Cranbaretto Sour

Smooth and not too sweet, Amaretto Cranberry Kiss Cocktail with a slight tang from the cranberry juice, which compliments the Amaretto and Vodka in it.

Cranbaretto Sour

Send the classic Amaretto sour straight into fall or winter cocktail territory by adding a cranberry simple syrup. Not only does it turn the cocktail a pretty pink, it also adds a refreshing tartness to cut through the sweetness of Amaretto. You can substitute tart cherries in the simple syrup as another variation.

  • 2 cups Fresh or frozen cranberries or tart cherries
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Water


  • 2 cups Amaretto liqueur
  • 1 cup Fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes, lemon slices, and cranberries


  • Heat 2 cups cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan over medium to a boil for the cranberry simple syrup. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until berries burst.
  • Off heat, crush berries with a potato masher, then steep 15 minutes; strain through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing fruit to extract as much liquid as possible, then cover and chill.
  • Combine amaretto, lemon juice, and 5 Tbsp. cranberry simple syrup in a pitcher with ice, stirring until cold. Strain sour into 8 ice-filled glasses and garnish with lemon slices and cranberries.
