  • ½ cup Dry red wine
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ lb. Fresh plums, sliced
  • ¼ tsp. Pure almond extract


  • 4 oz. Chopped amaretti cookies (such as Lazzaroni)
  • 1 cup Vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup Slivered almonds, toasted


  • Heat wine, honey, and salt in a saucepan over medium-high to a boil. Add plums, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer until softened, 4–5 minutes; stir in almond extract, then transfer to a bowl and chill until cold. Strain plums through a sieve, reserving wine mixture.
  • Assemble trifles by placing about 1 Tbsp. wine mixture in the bottom of six parfait dishes. Top with half the cookies, half the plums, and a heaping 1 Tbsp. each yogurt and almonds; repeat process once more.
