Cherry Milkshakes with Fudge Sauce

Ingredients
THE FUDGE SAUCE, WHISK
- ½ cup Granulated sugar
- ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup Heavy cream
- ⅛ tsp. Kosher salt
- 1 tbsp. Unsalted butter
- 2 oz. Semisweet bar chocolate, finely chopped
- ½ tsp. Pure vanilla extract
THE MILKSHAKE, BLEND
- 1 ½ qt. Vanilla ice cream
- 1 ½ cups Milk
- 2 cups Frozen pitted sweet cherries
- 1 tbsp. Fudge sauce
- ½ tsp. Pure almond extract
- Chocolate shavings, optional
- Pitted sweet cherries, optional
Instructions
The Fudge
- Whisk together sugar, cocoa, cream, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until sugar melts and sauce is smooth, then whisk in butter until melted.
- Off heat, stir in chocolate until melted, then stir in vanilla.
The Milkshake
- Blend ice cream, milk, cherries, fudge sauce, and almond extract in a blender on high speed until smooth.
- Drizzle bottom and sides of serving glasses with fudge sauce, then pour milkshake into glasses. Top shakes with chocolate shavings and a cherry; serve immediately.
